In the Season of Sound, Der Betrieb is turned into a room scaled instrument where the movements and sounds of the dancers and audience feed into an evolving musical environment.  The presence of each body resonates and affects the sound waves, connecting us to one another and causing the relationships between all bodily matters to vibrate and swing.

With the long durational format emblematic of Der Betrieb, the audience is welcome to enjoy an accessible sound-body experience where every sound wave is detectable and each body holds significance, defined by its unique mass and presence.

Utrumque (Gerhard Eckel and Ludvig Elblaus) with their specialised knowledge in building room scaled acoustic feedback systems will not only develop this immersive instrument but also act as the musicians, performing live throughout the duration of the performances.

The dancers, whose movements are based on repetition and transformation, also engage their voices from a movement perspective, creating sounds and syllables that remind us of songs and languages.
